Eric Trine.

30 years old.

Currently living in Portland, OR.

This week I’m calling myself an: Object based studio artist and designer. (fancy!)

I usually call myself a: Maker of Things.

I don’t do drawings, I design by making.

I design and build everything myself.

This is a one man operation. John Henry vs. The machine.

Entrepreneur.

My projects vary from small scale design/build for commercial clients, to commissioned furniture, to sculpture, to product design and development – and I love collaborating!

I consider myself self taught with other people around – which means I went to school.

School: BFA Interdisciplinary Studio Art -Biola University  – 2007. MFA Applied Craft and Design joint program via Pacific Northwest College of Art and the Oregon College of Art and Craft - 2013

I also spent many (formative) years as a kind of  ”artist in residence” working at The Lab and The Camp in Costa Mesa, CA.

Married.

Baby on the way.

One cat.

Prefer estate sales over museums, and thrift stores over galleries.

Cheese pizza.

I went to stunt school the summer after I graduated High School.

If I could do it all over again I’d either be a dancer or a surfboard shaper.
